Lunugamvehera National Park is situated between the Yala Protected area complex on the east side and Udawalawe National Park .this reservation can be accessed via Tissamaharama or Uda Walawe. It’s cover 23490 hectare which average temperature 30c, annual rain fall 1000mm highest rain expecting November to January,

Park Forest vegetation community basic accommodating scrub& grassland, abandon hena cultivation has been main reason of this vegetation type. Over 40 species of mammals, above 180 species of birds recorded this park.

There are two main entrance available to access this national park
First one A2 road along the coast up to Hambantota, Tissa, Thanamalvila and then to Lunugamvehera which is about 265km.
Other via Ratnapura on the A4 and through Udawalawe, Thanmalvila and reach Lunugamvehera which is about 230Km.
